Inspired by personal circumstances, Vashti Summervill sought certification in parent coaching so she could help other parents struggling to help their children come of age in these dark and chaotic times. Seven years later, Vashti published the timely and painfully relatable book, Letters from the Wilderness of Modern Parenting, a collaboration with artist and illustrator, Wendy Blickenstaff. In this conversation along the way, we talk about the family as a living system and making little changes that can help us shift the dance. We discuss how what parenting requires of us will change us as humans, and that this just might be contributing to “an evolution of our species.” We talk a bit about this beautiful book that Vashti and Wendy have brought into the world that helps “everyone feel seen,” parent and children alike.
