Find inner peace no matter who's elected -with Political Detox Coach, Chuck Gafvert

conversations along the way

I had a great time interviewing one of my Jungian coaching colleagues, Chuck Gafvert whose work “to help clients find inner peace, regardless of the chaos occurring in the external political environment” becomes more and more crucial with each passing day. He beautifully describes his own midlife ‘dark night of the soul’ that eventually led him to pursue certification as a Jungian coach. I loved and couldn’t agree more with his statement that “relationships are our greatest teachers” and appreciated his description of shadow work and reminder that we don’t have to be “velcroed” to the thoughts and beliefs that create so much of our suffering.

At this point, I have embraced this destabilizing, sometimes excruciating, sometimes wondrous experience of having a trans-IDed child as “curriculum of the soul.” Because I can’t help but imagine how different the world might be if we could all take the hardest thing in our lives and view it as this, as curriculum of the soul. Practitioners of Stoicism might say, "the obstacle is the way." These are my conversations and reflections--along the way.
