Was poking around and found that there's market research available (costs $2500) on Transgender Medicine for investing firms to weigh how much profit they can get off of those undergoing surgery:
This is so gross. My heart aches for humanity. I avoid the medical complex as best I can now. I honestly lost faith in this profit-driven system long ago.
I thought so too when I needed the info in another post. Speaking of which, a drag queen AGAINST kids attending drag shows said that a lot of the inappropriate events are funded by pharma companies on one of the Fox news programs. I haven't been able to find reporting on that connection, so if anyone sees anything, let me know?
I'm curious how many sites you've been blocked on? How many comments you've had deleted? Is this approach working for you to get your message out there? I'm afraid I can't let you hijack my site like this.
Yes, our miraculous glittering devices have distracted us from that which gives us strength, not "likes" but the connection to others, face to face with all the attendant bother and static.
Thank you for articulating what I have been obsessively missing! It’s not about biological sex. My daughter is not stereotypically/ culturally feminine but she is most definitely not a man. Your thoughts have framed all of this in a much more compassionate way.
Great essay and one of the first I've read that tackles why this is occurring. I'd like to read a similar essay questioning the abdication of the medical establishment. How did gender-affirming care reach its hasty conclusions? Is this really just another hideously twisted tale of end-stage capitalism creating markets for expensive procedures and "experts" to staff the new bureaucracies? What persuaded people steeped in the scientific method to abandon their "senses" in favor of that nebulous entity: the soul? Whatever the cause...it seemed to happen overnight without any societal munching over the consequences.
I'd like to see that essay too. From my perspective, it's quite the perfect storm. Hoping we recognize the canaries in the coal mine telling us it's time to examine what we're doing. Along with being a "hideously twisted tale of end-stage capitalism", I think we're also seeing an epidemic of hopelessness, and I don't think it happened overnight. As shocking as this was in the beginning for me as a mom, the more I think about it, the less surprised I am that this is what we've come to.
All that said, I'm optimistic. I think this is waking people up to how disconnected we are from each other and the human drives that propelled us through hundreds of thousands of years of evolution. If, as Jung says, enough people do the "inner work" and we reclaim the human story of resilience, I think we could turn this ship around yet!
