If you’ve been considering applying to join the SMP online community…
Now just might be time!
Since launching this community two years ago, the SMP Center has continued to attract mamas who are committed to changing their experience; mamas who understand that who you surround yourself with and what you feed your mind matter! We’ve got into a pretty good groove and the culture is well-established. New mamas are warmly welcomed and if they jump right into the orientation and quickly engage in the community, many report almost immediate relief.
In the words of one of our new members (shared with permission),
I've been here on this SMP for less than a month, and I can tell you that it is helping… I made a conscious decision to put myself out there (here!) this week, and I'm actually feeling a little better, a little stronger, a little more like I can handle whatever my daughter is going to do, knowing I can't control it… I can tell you that things have gotten better for me in a way I didn't believe that they could.
Within the community’s digital “walls” we come together to explore challenging topics that invite us to expand our capacity and develop inner peace–regardless of external circumstances. The wisdom and support these moms share with each other never fails to blow me away!

What goes on inside:
Each month (for 10 months of the year with 2 months saved for review), I introduce a growth-oriented theme and share articles, quotes, and prompts to support members to understand and integrate these (often challenging) ideas into their unique real life situations.
I facilitate four meetings a month, that’s 4 opportunities to meet live and engage with other moms from the community, dig deeper into the learning concepts, get laser coaching from me, and discover how to apply new practices and strategies to your real life challenges.
There are daily prompts to engage with and keep you focused on what’s within your agency. Whether I pose a thought experiment, one of the members of our amazing leadership team posts a weekly update or powerful quote, or one of our member mamas shares a wise insight, helpful article, or support request, you’re sure to find yourself engaged in a way that helps you to feel more grounded and less alone.
The laser coaching continues in the conversation threads, usually through questions meant to invite you to see things in a new way. I also like to think of this community as a net that catches you when you’re falling. I see it time and again within the community–these moms know how to lift each other up rather than drag each other down into co-rumination, escalating the anger and fear that dominate so many parent groups. Whether you’re the one requesting it, responding to the request, or just stumbling upon the thread, everyone benefits from the support shared–this is what this community is all about!
We are also attracting moms who have expertise and skills to share! For this reason, we have peer-led learning clubs. If you’re a coach or have another specialty that you think helps moms in this circumstance, we can create a space for you to offer a book study, discussion group, or even a class!
This is also now the only place to access the Foundations Course (the 3-module course originally launched on the StoicMom Project Substack, now only available within the online community.) This self-paced course–that teaches the concepts that kept me sane and helped me reorient to this circumstance in a way that has enhanced my life–is included in your SMP membership.
So why might now be the time to join?
I’ve seen the impact this community has had on so many moms dealing with trans-identified kids. If you come in and dive into the content and the community, it has the power to transform your experience. As with anything, the more you put into it, the more you get out. If you’re going to do this thing, I invite you to really do this thing. Come all in and get everything you can out of the community.
To encourage this “all in-ness” I’m increasing the cost of community membership on September 1. I’ve come to believe that the more you invest in yourself, the more likely you are to get the most out of the investment. It’s a strong message to your psyche that you’re serious about making this shift, and you’re ready to give it your all.
Membership dues will continue to creep up. Once in, as long as you stay enrolled, you lock in the price at which you joined.
Currently, the membership is $395/year or $39.50 per month. For some, this might be enough of a stretch to ensure your psyche understands how important this is to you. Maybe?
Beginning September 1, membership goes up to $595/year or $59.50/month.
And maybe your time isn’t now. Maybe your quality of life is simply worth more than $39.50 or even $59.50 month? Maybe it’s best you wait until that price point hits the spot that communicates to yourself that you’re all in on this.
How will you know?
I’d say tune into yourself. If you’re feeling a bit of a nervous tug, even a little fear because you’re leaning into this, I’d say listen to that and move toward what scares you. The time for you is likely now.
If you’re feeling a bit numb to this article, rolling your eyes, or even a bit irritated by it, I encourage you to listen to that. You’d probably not get much out of it and I’d discourage you from joining.
If you’re unsure, I’d say go ahead and apply. The application questions might help you to get some clarity, and if I have hesitations about your commitment or understanding of what you’re getting into based on your responses, I’ll reach out to you with more questions. You can also always choose not to hit “submit” on the form.
(If there’s some other unnamed resistance you’re coming up against, yet you know you’re committed to shifting your experience, that could be a good indicator that 1:1 coaching might be a better place to start. If you’d like to explore that, consider taking this free depth coaching readiness survey. The questionnaire is followed by instructions for how to set up a discovery call with me so I can help you determine what’s going to best serve you.)
I believe that we all have within us the capacity to live full, rich lives filled with meaning and satisfaction. If you find that spending time here at the SMP Substack feeds your soul, even just a little bit, going deeper with us is quite likely to boost that nutrition. If that’s not what you experience when you engage with the SMP content, then I’d be very curious to know what keeps bringing you back. Please share in the comments!
